My daughter competes cross country with her two horses, Lulu and Charity. Lulu is very steady and solid, but Charity gets overexcited and pulls like a train. It is not unusual for her to then pay the price with a sore back for a few days. We have been leaving our Equine SunSwitch on in her box for an hour or so after competitions, and she seems considerably less affected by her exertions as a result. She actually positions herself so that her back is covered by the rays and then settles down to eat from her hay net. Kate also uses the heater when she is grooming either horse before exercise, as she thinks that it helps warm their muscles before setting off, which must be better than starting off cold. Here are a couple of photos (old ones I’m afraid) of Lulu (the grey) and Charity (the Chestnut). Mrs Julie Rogers
